Twenty Known Clothing Brands in the U.S. and South Korea Gathered in the Spring Fashion Week in Guangdong

The Guangdong Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission’s 2011 Spring Fashion week will last from April 8-April 11 and will feature nearly twenty well-known clothing brands from the United States, South Korea and China.

Enthusiastically participating in the spring fashion week are designers including Nikki Chu, Dom Blu Hollywood, Robb Havassy, Steger, Idol Mind and there will be selected designer brands in the areas of furniture, soft furnishings, sportswear, and women’s fashion with an emphasis on “California casual style.”

According to organizers, this Spring Fashion Week in Guangdong takes place after an eight year lapse. It is being held in the Liuhua Complex and will mark the official start of the international clothing trade exchange project. The apparel trading exchange will develop brand-oriented, original design by the support of the Union authorities and sophisticated integration of this resource, promoting design innovation and to promote high end elements of the garment industry such as high-end brand development and gradually raise the international status of Chinese clothing.

It is reported that there are already Clothing Industry Association, Guangdong Province, Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, the Guangdong Center for Fashion Design, Fashion Industry, Institute of Economic Research and other institutions have took the lead in four industries. Guangdon has settled on the point of having two Fashion Weeks per year.

Guangzhou Yuexiu Econominc and Trade Bureau official said, “Will further promote the business district in Guangzhou Liuhua, speed up transformation and upgrading of traditional professional market economy and Exhibition combination of development, Liuhua area will become an international procurement center, international clothing brands, clothing culture, fashion center and international community.”
